Egressive
Egressive Standard Drupal Package
We are proud to announce that the "Egressive Standard Drupal" package is available - in beta form - for web designers and other web-interested businesses who want to offer their customers a no-hassle, configured, tested, hosted and well supported web application frame/CMS.
Our Standard Drupal package is a direct result of our experience building web applications with Drupal. It is a "greatest hits" collection of Drupal capabilities comprising the basic Drupal engine, a selection of must-have modules, and our configuration magic to make it all work together out of the box. The idea is to provide you, a reseller, a fixed price package which offers a world-beating Content Management Framework out of the box, but offers quite a bit more besides:
- a supported solution, designed for maintainability,
- a technically virtuoso hosting provider, intimately familiar with the care and feeding of Drupal, able to offer sophisticated integration between Drupal and other server applications, and
- a fully extensible, customisable platform for web applications with capabilities limited only by your imagination.
Egressive Standard Drupal Package
The ever-changing nature of the Drupal code-base thanks to a very busy developer community means that we're perpetually looking at ways to improve our Standard Drupal package. We've provided a list of current feature below.
Note that the Egressive Standard Drupal package is currently based on Drupal 5.x. We will be offering a Drupal 6.x (the most recent stable release of Drupal) package when sufficiently many 3rd party modules are available for 6.x to allow us to achieve a similar level of capability and stability as we currently have with the 5.x release.
Version 0.7
- Unlimited Content (almost) - gone are the days of "pay per page" websites. With Drupal you can create content like site pages, blog entries, images, file uploads, news stories, etc., and integrate them into your site's menus dynamically, without doing any web coding.
No content limits are imposed by the Drupal system - you can have as you like, limited only by the disk space allotted by your hosting plan. - Publish/Unpublish content – work on content before making it visible to other site users.
- Content categorisation – full access to Drupal's advanced "taxonomy" system that allows you to categorise (and sort by category) all the content on your site.
- Content versioning – each change to content on a page or story is stored as a "revision" on the system allowing you to undo changes if desired.
- Content syndication with RSS – content feeds let users and other sites subscribe to your dynamic content like news stories, announcement, blog entries, etc.
- User accounts – full support for open or moderated user account creation and maintenance.
- Enhanced user profiles – define custom fields for each user account, e.g. full name, postal address, website, etc.
- Pre-defined user roles - user roles with appropriate permissions - Site Visitor, Authenticated User, and Admin. Others roles can be created allowing you to fine-tune access to certain parts of your site content (pages, files, etc.) to users belonging to specific roles only.
- Clean URLs – human readable and search-engine optimised "clean" page addresses like yoursite.com/about, /portfolio, /news/another_successful_project instead of yoursite.com/index.php?something=this+that&another_thing=a_value&etc
- Multiple themes - choose from a selection of Drupal themes for your site's look and feel.
- Navigation menu - option of simple or hierarchical drop down or dynamic fold out menus.
- Quicklinks menu – appears on different part of page, can include useful links like Contact Us, Sitemap, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy.
- Print this page - link on each page providing a printer friendly version of the content.
- Contact Us form with user-selected recipients – lets site visitors send you an email without revealing your email address – helps reduce your spam.
- News – dynamic presentation of news stories on the front page, with links to a news story archive.
- Site map – "unfold" your site so that all major content areas are visible at a glance.
- Rich content editor – word processor-like WYSIWYG interface for content editing - including image upload - you don't need to know HTML code.
- Image galleries – create one or more image galleries. The gallery automatically creates sized images and thumbnails on image upload.
- File upload - attach files to any of your pages and make them available for download.
- Site search – Drupal periodically scans your site content makes the content searchable (does not include the contents of attached documents).
- Google Analytics – get in-depth site usage analysis if you have a (free) Google Analytics account key.
- Strong Passwords – the system dynamically rates user passwords (when initially entered or changed) to encourage stronger passwords. The site administrator can also require certain minimum password parameters.
In addition to these features, Egressive employs a source code control system, Subversion, to roll out its Drupal installations. If you choose to make use of our Drupal Site Support described below, we can use this system to roll out security and bug fixes and safely maintain records of any customisations we have made to your site. It is also the basis through which we roll out and manage enhancements to the Standard Drupal package.
Price: The Egressive Standard Drupal package is available for $2000.00 + GST in conjunction with Egressive Drupal Hosting. Reseller pricing is available - contact us.
We can install the Egressive Standard Drupal package on other hosting providers offering LAMP hosting, but software pre-requisites apply, and price is on application.
